Onar is a private dream journal. It is built so that your dreams stay yours. This policy explains, in plain language, what happens to your information when you use Onar (the "App"). The short version: the App does not collect your data, and the developer has no access to what you write, record, or draw.
1. Information We Do Not Collect
Onar does not collect, transmit, sell, or share any personal information. The developer cannot read your dream entries, listen to your recordings, see your sketches, or view any other content you create in the App. There are no developer accounts, no sign-up, and no profile.
2. Where Your Data Lives
Everything you create in Onar — text, voice recordings, sketches, moods, titles, and symbols — is stored locally on your device. If you keep iCloud enabled, your data syncs across your own devices through Apple's iCloud private database, which is tied to your Apple ID and encrypted by Apple. The developer has no access to this private iCloud data.
3. Voice Recordings & Transcription
When you record a voice note, the audio is saved locally on your device. Speech-to-text transcription is performed by Apple's on-device speech recognition. Your recordings are not uploaded to the developer or to any third-party server by the App.
4. No Tracking, No Analytics, No Ads
Onar contains no third-party analytics, no advertising, and no tracking technologies. The App does not use cookies and does not build a profile of you.
5. Purchases
Optional subscriptions and the one-time lifetime purchase are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. The developer does not receive or store your name, card number, or other payment details. Apple's handling of purchases is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.
6. Children's Privacy
Onar is not directed to children, and because the App collects no data, no information is gathered from anyone, including children.
7. Third-Party Services
The only third party involved is Apple, through iCloud (optional sync) and the App Store (optional purchases). No other third-party services receive your information from the App.
8. Your Control Over Your Data
- You can delete any entry directly inside the App at any time.
- Deleting the App removes the data stored locally on that device.
- You can manage or remove iCloud data for Onar in your device's iCloud settings.
9. Changes to This Policy
If this Privacy Policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
